Krish Prabhu was chief executive officer of Tellabs from 2004 to 2008. During that time, he successfully broadened the company’s product portfolio to include platforms that support triple play and mobile services, which were a major part of the company’s focus on enabling residential, business, and wireless communications. He presided over the acquisition of two companies, Advanced Fibre Communications and Vinci Systems, and doubled sales at the company during his tenure while managing more than 3,550 people worldwide.
From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Prabhu focused on funding and developing several private companies, and before that, was chief operating officer of Alcatel Telecom from 1999 to 2001. He was chief executive officer of Alcatel USA from 1997 to 1999. He began his career in 1980 at AT&T Bell Laboratories as a member of the technical staff. Mr. Prabhu currently serves as a member of the Board of Visitors, School of Engineering, University of Pittsburgh, and is a lifetime member of the Development Board at the University of Texas at Dallas.
